Recap of Bete Noire
-Arrival. He quietly entered the city.
-Establishing a presence in the underworld. Ba'al quickly established a presence in the under world. He made deals with existing crime bosses and even took on a few assassination jobs on their behalf.
-Establishing a 'business' arrangement with Inara. Ba'al learned what a Companion was and decided to take full advantage of this knowledge. He struck a protection deal with Inara and later became business partners with her.
-Backlash by existing crime bosses. Despite doing some work for the existing crime bosses, he was slowly worming his way into their empires and stealing information and allegiances. They found out kicked the crap out of him. He was so badly tortured his host was forced to take control while they healed.
-First business. Taking full advantage of being a city of sin, Ba'al opened up a sex toy shop. It quickly began to thrive.
-Torture of Everett Young. Young broke into Ba'al's business believing Ba'al's intentions were anything but pure. Ba'al caught him and did what he always does to people who trespass. During the torture he found Young's reactions interesting and decided he would be fun to poke at later.
-Information gathering. Ba'al took up a large scale information gathering operation on every person of interest in the city. He employed a number of people to gather information for him as well as doing so himself.
-Female Host acquired. Not much to tell here. She was a willing host who eventually became known as Ada, the name Ba'al went by when he was within her body(the female host isn't coming to Outer Divide, btw).
-Strange relationship starts with Young. They crossed paths again Young wanted the files Ba'al had on everyone. Ba'al pushed his luck to see what Young was willing to do for the files which turned out to be quite a lot. What happened after that was a very strange co-dependent relationship.
-Clones. Ba'al cloned his symbiote self and kept vats of the little guys in his basement. Then a massive flood washed through the city. His clones were released into the water supply and stared taking on hosts at random.
-Clone round up. People found out about the clones and pressured Ba'al into helping retrieve them.
-Undercover Ada. Ba'al took on his female host and used her to infiltrate Tony Stark's household as a personal assistant. It was fairly successful but Ba'al never got the volume of information he had hoped for.
-Zombies attacked the city and Ba'al didn't do much beyond protecting his interests but when Young was bitten he changed his mind. He teamed up with Rush and they attacked the leader of the invasion.
-Conflict with Tyki. After the fallout from the zombie thing Tyki was not happy with Ba'al for his role in it. They had a short lived conflict which ended with Ba'al getting tortured from within by tease.
-Suddenly friends with Tyki. For some reason they came to an understanding about each others motives.
-Rouge Clone. Ba'al had softened toward humans in general. One of his clones went rogue because of this. The clone contained Ba'al's genetic memory from when he first entered the city but not the development that took place after. The clone decided Ba'al had become too soft and it needed to take over. It entered his female host and launched its attack.
Instead of outright killing him(the dead had an annoying habit of coming back), it imprisoned him. He was hidden away while the clone took over.
Eventually others found out about the ruse and freed Ba'al. The power struggle caused a lot of collateral damage, including destroying Ba'al's home.
-Superpower gained. During an event which produced superpowers in many citizens, Ba'al gained a power to control gravity which he loves very much.
-Tony Stark finds out Ada is Ba'al. This... could have gone worse. They got a long well enough and Ba'al did a lot of sweet talking to keep his intentions nicely hidden.
-Torturing people to feel better. Ba'al was a mess after his rogue clone ordeal. He started taking on torture assignments from the crime world again. He hoped it would make him feel better. It did, for a little while.
-Entering Tyki's mind. Something strange happened to Tyki that left him a mess. Next Ba'al saw him he ended up jumping into his body to 'fix' the mess. They had a strange mind meld and better understood each other and Ba'al realized just how powerful the darkness in Tyki could be. Ba'al soon left his body and returned to his usual host.
-Take over of The Sanctuary. Ba'al had held a interest in a nightclub. When the nightclub's owner disappeared. Ba'al took over complete control of the business. Nothing could have made Ba'al happier.
-Everett Young's disappearance. When he disappeared Ba'al outwardly didn't seem bothered despite being quite unhappy about it.
-TOTALLY HEALTHY REACTION. Not long after Young left, Ba'al used his gravity power to destroy an abandoned building. Ba'al refused to admit the disappearance bothered him which made its effect on him that much worse.
-Business and criminal activity skyrocket. Wither his personal life sucky Ba'al turned his attention back to his little empire which he spent the next year vigorously expanding.
-Finally over it – a year later. Ba'al finally gets over the loss of Young. He stops acting like a kid that lost his favorite toy.
-Notable CR- (past and present)
Inara Serra (Firefly) she was his business parter and runs the brothel half of his operations. He has a very high regard for her and is a bit soft on her. She may no be Adria but she's proven herself a powerful and useful ally.
Tyki Mikk (D. Grey Man) an employee and someone he actually considers a friend. Of a sort. They have been on opposing sides in the past but work extremely well together. They have a mutual understanding of what the other is and what they're capable of.
Everett Young (SGU) was Ba'al's favorite person to torture. They developed a strange co-dependent relationship that neither ever understood. Though Ba'al never admitted it, Young's disappearance was deeply upsetting to him.
Nicholas Rush (SGU) carried more than one of Ba'al's clones in his body. By extension, Ba'al had some fondness for Rush, especially after he requested a new clone after the first died.
Nicki Rush (SGU AU) a female version of Nicholas Rush that Ba'al grew an affinity for.
William Flemming (MGA) a scientist that Ba'al's host likes. He's responsible for giving Ba'al's host the name 'Charles.' Ba'al himself has some interest in him and enjoys his company well enough but is weary upon knowing the man is a werewolf.
James T. Kirk (TOS) someone Ba'al has tortured on occasion as well as someone he's tried to manipulate to his side. Ba'al does like him for his heroic personality because it's something he can understand despite being a 'bad guy.'
Tony Stark (Marvel) is someone he's worked with and even for. He found him useful but profoundly annoying. His current feelings are that Stark has out lived his usefulness.
Thor (Marvel) is amusing and someone he likes to troll. People with moral compasses are always entertaining.
Steve Rogers (Marvel) another person Ba'al likes to troll for similar reasons as Thor.
Needy (Jennifer's Body) Ba'al took her under his wing so to speak after he discovered what she was capable of. They had a weird Father daughter type relationship. After her disappearance, he's steadfastly pretending it isn't bothering him.
Bruce Wayne (DC Comics pre-reboot) Ba'al tortured him once and found his resistance quite interesting. Ba'al tried to keep close tabs on him while he was in the city. Especially when his ventures encroached on his own. They occasionally worked together in uneasy alliances and eventually called a truce. Sort of.
Edward Nigma (DC AU) worked with him on many occasions as well as commissioned him for death trap related pieces. Ba'al liked him a great deal. His ego was almost as big as his.
